ABOUT US:
Established in 2009 to sell pre-owned gas vehicles, ECS gained a reputation with consumers for offering reliable vehicles, backed by dedicated customer service. ECS is now the first 100% electric vehicle (EV) dealership in The Bahamas.
Easy Car Sales is on a mission to make transportation more eco-friendly and to reduce harmful CO2 emissions that contribute to climate change. Empowering Bahamians to lower their high cost of vehicle ownership as well as the nation's reliance on fossil fuels, they educate and inform the Public and the Government on the benefits of switching to electric powered vehicles and collaborate with local and international organizations to pave the way to the EV (Electric Vehicle) Revolution accelerating around the world.
THE JOURNEY:
2015 The journey begins with importation of first fully electric Nissan Leaf and introduction to the public.
2016 Sales of pre-owned Nissan Leaf models begin. ECS sponsored the installation of the first free public EV charging station in partnership with the Bahamas National trust. Since then, ECS has facilitated over a dozen free charging points available to all EV drivers around New Providence and installed hundreds of private chargers.
2017 The Government of the Bahamas embarks on first pilot program consisting of 12 EVs starting their transition to more efficient and economical electric mobility – to date there are over 100 fully electric vehicles in the government fleet.
2018 The Company establishes a relationship with BYD Auto, the largest manufacturer and leading global brand of electric vehicles in the world. Easy Car Sales provides a wide range of BYD models for consumer and commercial clients. Their mechanics are fully trained on the repair and maintenance of BYD vehicles in order to provide reliable post-sales warranty support.
2019 Dealership Agreement with BYD is signed, ECS starts transition to fully electric future replacing pre-owned gas car sales business model with new car sales of EVs.
2020 Pia & John Farmer acquire full ownership and responsibility for ECS and, despite the Covid Pandemic, sales numbers double from previous year.
2021 Adoption of EVs by consumers and businesses expands rapidly. ECS hosts the international launch of the BYD Han luxury sports sedan cementing the company as a leader in the region as the first and only fully electric dealership. BYD’s market share rises to almost 9% of all new vehicle sales in The Bahamas.
2022 ECS achieves over 10% of all new vehicle sales in The Bahamas with the BYD brand.
2023 ECS launches a partnership with JAC Motors adding a second brand of consumer and commercial fully electric vehicles to their portfolio.
RF invests in ECS, becoming the first company in their STRAT EQUITY FUND of successful and ambitious Bahamian companies with above average growth potential.
ECS purchases property for the construction of their new Headquarters and showrooms.
